PMR Locates Lost Skiers

Late afternoon on Friday, March 6th, 2009 Clackamas County Sheriff's Office requested the assistance of Portland Mountain Rescue to search for two skiers lost out of bounds at Timberline Ski Resort on Mt Hood. CCSO was able to determine the approximate location of the two skiers because they had a GPS-enabled cell phone.

PMR split into two teams, searching the lower parts of the mountain. The rescuer located the subjects about 1/4 mile from Enid Lake, and provided them with food, liquid and warm clothes before escorting them out to the Enid Lake Trailhead.
